Sooty has been an angel in the team! He has taught everyone the ropes and is now teaching Lilly to come of the lead rein. As well as being one of the best ponies in the country he has the patients of the saint.

I’ve been riding and competing since I was 2. I made my winning debut on my brothers Dartmoor pony Poppy at the age of 3. I’ve mainly been doing lead with my pink pony Smartie with mummy and we’ve had loads of wins, championships and a few supreme titles including qualifying for the £1000 area supreme at the BSPS championships. Team Holder have always been very supportive towards me and come and cheer me on. I’ve had some lovely rides on ponies at their yard when we’ve been to visit. If it wasn’t for them I would of not been given the opportunity to have the amazing Sooty on loan this year to teach me the ropes, he is simply the best. I did my first ever solo class at the BSPS champs this year. Emma really helped me to get in the ring by myself as I was very nervous but she gave me loads of confidence and made me feel like I could do it. she’s very patient, kind and doesn’t shout!! (like mummy)
My aim is to do first riddens next year and have great fun with my show family it’s not about the winning just that you have fun. Love Lily-Rose xx

Jed is really starting to change shape and mature through his body. His strength is progressing daily and we are very excited about his career! He is going to be a real winner in the show ring.

Following her win and supreme at the Thames valley Welsh Show Priscilla gained a fabulous write up and picture in the Horse and Hound magazine!!

Well that was a very long day! After leaving the Thames Valley Welsh Show at 8.30pm we then lost an air tank on the M25 on the way home and had to be recovered getting in the door at 2am ! Massive thank you to Scott Dixon for staying with me and the lorry 
But what a show for Emma Holder and Worsenden Priscilla first and champion coloured- 3 outings 3 wins ! 

After much deliberation as we were still at the show we decided to let her have a run in the supreme as she had never been indoors and Wow she didn’t let us down giving it her all as the only part bred in there she really did strut her stuff taking the overall ridden supreme!

Also well done Debby Booth with Hurtstock over the moon who improves every road trip.

Huge thanks to the Thames Valley Team for putting in so much time and effort it is very much appreciated and to all the judges and the sponsors for their amazing gifts.

An exciting young prospect. Looking forward to showing her in 2021. We are sure she has an extremely bright future ahead!

Today is the day we picked up our lovely lorry after being away having work done and being re sprayed since the beginning of the summer! We are super impressed with how it looks and can’t wait to get out and start the new season in it!

The Showing Journal write-up

I thought I would write a little bit as too our background in joining Team Holder. 
We are mad or dedicated family not quite sure which that travel from the borders of Scotland to enjoy the fun of Team holder. 

I grew up around ponies and both my parents came from horsey families so it was kind of inevitable I would end up with ponies. My father was an international show jumper but I never had the guts for that and ended up down the showing route. I was lucky enough to have some lovely ponies but gave up when I went to uni. However during uni I worked for a lovely family doing holidays showing their ponies with their 4 children - achieving many accolades including wining at the rihs and having some amazing results at hoys including 2nd twice. 
When my own children were old enough I introduced them to ponies which they enjoyed, I then was on the look out for a pony for Rocco. I found one but she was still being broken and needed someone to finish the job off - I was introduced to team holder in February 2018 and thinking this would be a short relationship with the team to get the pony going we are still here now. 

Their patience in bringing the ponies on and getting them to perform at their best is second to none. It is so fantastic being part of a lovely team where everyone supports each other - the older children are so encouraging to my two and the most important thing it is always fun for the children. Nonetheless, they are a bad influence in making your pony numbers accumulate!!We look forward to many more happy times - any chance of a move north!

As the mother of a pony mad 15 year girl and unfortunately not from a horsey background myself, I was luckily introduced to Gayle the Team Holder family 7 years ago and they have produced our ponies and taught my daughter ever since.  

They have taken my daughter from competing in First ridden classes on her lovely little section A pony (I will always remember her first show at the Hickstead Derby with Charlie), whilst competing at the Royal International and HOYS along the way to now entering into the eventing world too. 

I am so thankful to everyone at Team Holder, especially Gayle and Emma for all their teaching, guidance, and support over the years. They really know their stuff! But for me, far more important than the wins, is that Team Holder have provided my daughter  with incredible lifelong lessons in dedication, organisation, hard work, supporting her team mates through the highs and lows, and learning to deal with disappointment whilst celebrating the success of others. 
All this will give her the confidence to tackle anything life may through at her whilst making lifelong friends in the process.

We purchased this pony at the end of 2018 and last year he contested the show hunter pony classes. He won three HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW qualifiers and qualified for both royal international and hoys. This year he has started his career in the eventing field and is proving to be a real star! He has already won the future event 6 year old final at hickstead and has jumped his first few events successfully. He is definitely one to watch! 

Bloomfield Pocket Money 

I have been with Team Holder for 6 years now, I don’t come from a horsey background, but I have always wanted to ride. It took 7 years of begging before my parents finally sent me to a riding school. I spent a couple of years there, but I wanted to go further and start competing, so I was introduced to Team Holder. They have taken me from someone who could barely ride in a straight line, to becoming the Supreme Best Rider at the BSPS Summer Championships 2019. It took many lessons, but Emma and Gayle are amazing teachers who have brought my riding on massively. They have taken me to shows that I never even dreamt of competing at, such as HOYS and the RIHS. Team Holder have produced all my ponies and I have had amazing results with every one of them. Last year, I competed on my 14hh show hunter pony, and we collected many high placings, including champion Show Hunter at Royal Suffolk County and  Stoneleigh. Now, I have started eventing with the continuous support of Emma and Gayle. They have become my family, a home away from home. I love being with them and gain so much experience on the yard. I am so grateful for the opportunities they have provided me with and continue to learn from them everyday.

The last plaited pony day for the season and what a great way to end! 
William Parkin 1st in the First Ridden with Stretcholt Pussykins.
Cerys Holley 1st Show pony with Mount Pleasant Welsh Rose.
 
Then William Was ring champion and Cerys reserve giving them both a spin in the supreme!

Both jockeys received the rising star award sponsored by Prp Rescue.

Jess Cronk also had 2 lovely rides on Susannah Lawsons Mr Pip with a win in the Irish Draught class and the Heavy weight hunters 
A great end to the plaited season well done team 

Rose contends the 128 show pony classes. She has had a tremendous career. Last year she qualified for both Royal international and Horse of the Year Show. She qualified in two classes at the horse of the year show and was 3rd and 7th being pulled forward both times to the final line up. She has the most incredible temperament and Cerys will now be handing over the reins to William Parkin for the 2021 season. 

Mountspleasant Welsh Rose 

Cerys Holley is our niece and is 11 years old. When Cerys moved back from America when she was 2 she came to visit her auntie Gayle at the yard. The moment her eyes lit up when she saw Hamish the Shetland we knew she was going to be pony mad! As soon as she was old enough to ride in the ring we purchased her first show pony and from then on she has grown in to a fabulous show rider gaining incredible results! She has qualified for the horse of the year show 5 times and has been in the top 5 at the final! Cerys loves to jump too and has a pony called monty that she gets so much enjoyment out of, always coming home with a double clear and a grin from ear to ear! She has an extremely exciting future ahead of her. With her dedication and great sportsmanship she is sure to make it to the top! 

Cerys Holley 

After being born in the new forest my love for horses was inevitable even though I was born into a very non horsey family! I started riding at about 7 years old at the local riding school. At 15 I was lucky enough to have an event pony on loan which I kept on a local competition livery yard where I caught the showing bug! I then went to Hartpury college to study Equine Science. Living in the Gloucestershire area I had the opportunity to work for well renowned show producer Robert Oliver where I worked and gained a lot more experience before joining Holder Show Team. I have been lucky enough to ride a lot of beautiful horses in the show ring at both Royal International and Horse of the year show. 

Jessica Cronk 

Nikki has been shown lightly on the lead and is now contending the first ridden show pony classes with William Parkin. She has won nearly every time out and is proving to have an exciting future ahead of her. Definitely one to watch in 2021.

I’ve been riding since I was 18months old, I started on a little section a pony called Annie who loved to be dirty and was a very cheeky monkey. We competed at our first show at the age of 2 and in that year we did 5 shows with 4 wins. 
When I was still only 1 years old my grandparents bought me a 2yr old dartmoor Poppy,  Newoak Golden Edition who took me into heritage lead rein from the age of 3 and to the present day now doing first riddens together. We’ve had many wins together qualifying for RIHS 5 years on the trot in both the Pretty Polly and Open classes. 
Nikki my Show pony who we’ve had since she was 4 did a few seasons on the lead with wins at the BSPS championships but really was intended to be my first ridden. This being our first season together solo. In the very sort season we’ve had this year, it’s been amazing with loads of wins and champions including at the BSPS Championships in the 4 classes we did we had two wins a reserve champion and two 3rds. I love being apart of Team Holder because we have lots of fun in and out of the show ring. Everyone supports each other big or small, win or lose and we have great parties. Thank you Gayle and Emma for everything you’ve done for me and my ponies. Your the best. Love William xx
