Poppy Allen age 7 My riding journey started as soon as I could sit on a pony as my mummy already had 2 ponies for me before I was born which were my older sister Chloe’s ponies. My first pony was an old but cheeky section A called Noonie , I did my first lead rein class on her at 18 months and also went to pony club and camp and started riding her by myself too. At the age of 3 I took up the ride on Cornashton Sky Wishes aka Deedee where I competed in some lead rein classes . At the beginning of 2018 I joined Team Holder , I will never forget my first show with them , Gayle had rung mummy to say we’re going to a practice show just 4 weeks after mummy had dropped Deedee off at Team Holder. We arrived at the show we were very quiet as we didn’t really know anyone from Team Holder but they all made us feel very welcome. We only went an won the Royal International qualifying class and were mini champions, we were all in utter shock! We were also front cover of the showing Journal magazine.Deedee, Gayle and I went onto win a further 2 Royal International qualifiers that year. I also won my first Hoys ticket that year winning the biggest teddy bear I’ve ever seen, we finished in the top 11 at Hoys. This year I have been riding Deedee in first ridden classes which is great fun, we’ve won lots of lovely sashes. I also took Deedee to pony club camp this year all by myself. I also love jumping Deedee riding without stirrups and performing crazy tricks on her. I also have our homebred young pony Deedees son ‘Allensway new beginning’ aka ‘Rodney Trotter’ who came to Team Holder to be broken , we went to one show this year , this time I was led by Jess. I’m so excited for next year with my 2 lovely ponies to ride. I love being part of Team Holder , they are the best and so much fun.
